F. M. Strickland
F. M. Strickland, 817 S. 20th St., died at 4:07 a.m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 90 years old. Funeral services for Mr. Strickland will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Myers Chapel. The Rev. William Newell will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens cemetery. Friends may call at Myers Chapel after 5 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Strickland, a retired farmer and teacher, was born Feb. 18, 1879, in Scheller. His parents were William and Martha (Ward) Strickland. He was married March 9,1913, to Etta Freeman, who preceded him in death June 19, 1957. He was first married to Minerva Kirkpatrick who died in 1911. They were married April 19. 1905. Mr. Strickland was a member of the Dryden Methodist church. His survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Eva Knicker, Centralia, and Mrs. Opal Harlow, New Castle, Calif.; four sons, Paul and Merritt of Mt. Vernon, Spencer of Sacramento, Calif., and Donald of Greeley, Colo,; one sister, Mrs. Laura Rice of Goodling, Idaho; and eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, six brothers and three sisters.
