James Douglas Tapp
James Douglas Tapp, 60, of Beecher City died 11:40 p.m. March 28, 2004, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City, with the Rev. Larry Sinnigar officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Hopewell Methodist Church Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, with military rites. Memorials may be made to the Meals on Wheels in Beecher City or the American Cancer Society. Mr. Tapp was born May 13, 1943, in Mt. Vernon, a son of Earl Douglas and Alma Lee Russell Tapp. He married Judith Elaine (Atchison) Tapp Feb.21, 1961, in Mt. Vernon. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, the American Legion in Effingham, USWA Local 713 and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was employed at Bridgestone-Firestone in Decatur from 1964 to 2002. Surviving are his wife, Judy; a son, Douglas Gene Tapp and wife Marilou P (Cobb) of St. Louis; a daughter, Deloris Lee Musgrave of Olney; grandchildren Joshua Kane Tapp, Cynthia Jean Musgrave, Jacob Ryan Musgrave, Jennifer Renne Tapp, Geannie Renee McKillop-Tapp, Gerrie Rachael McKillop-Tapp, Garrett Ryne Tapp, Douglas Gene Tapp II and Kristine Elane Tapp; sisters Marsha Thomas of Mt.
