Lena L. (Whitlock) Tate
Mrs. Lena Tate, Of TExico, Dies; Rites Wednesday Mrs. Lena L. Tate died at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at her home in Texico at the age of 78 years, one month and 20 days. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Union chapel church, with the Rev. Angus Phillips and the Rev. Roscoe Gant officiating, and burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery. The body will remain at the family home in Texico, where friends may call at any time afater 8:00 o'clock tonight. Mrs. Tate was born December 21, 1872, the daughter of Foster S. and Sarah (Clink) Whitlock. On December 23, 1894 she was married to I. E. "Ed" Tate who survives. She was a member of the Zion Methodist church. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Eva, at home; three brothers, the Rev. Omer Whitlock of Harrisburg, Arthur Whitlock of Texico and Wayne Whitlock of Spearfish, South Dakota; one sister, Mrs. Versa Teague of Nisland, South Dakota; and one grandchild. She is also survived by the following, who were reared in her home; James Hall, George Hall, Jr., Vasco Tate and Pleasant Tate. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beulah.
