Bernice TAYLOR, 82, of Falkville, Alabama and a former Jefferson County resident, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, in Falkville.

She was born in Jefferson County on Aug. 14, 1924, the daughter of Troy and Nell (KIRK) ADAMS.

She married Rev. Chester A. TAYLOR in 1945, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1999.

Mrs. TAYLOR was a member of the Fairview Church of God in Falkville, Alabama, where Rev. TAYLOR and she had served as Pastor.

Mrs. TAYLOR is survived by one son, Aaron TAYLOR of Glenn Poole, Okla.; four daughters, Janet BISHOP of Orleans, Ind., Joy SLONE of Streator, Brenda SMITH of Akron, Ohio, and Betty SCHAEFERS of Remlap, Ala.; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Harry D. ADAMS and wife Betty of Bonnie, and Wesley Adams and wife Louise of Bonnie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. TAYLOR was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, one sister, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bonnie Church of God with Rev. Jack GATSON officiating. Burial will be in the Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Bonnie Church of God. The Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon is in charge of arrangements.
