Earl Taylor
Earl Taylor, 55, of Springfield, a former resident of Mt. Vernon, died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in Springfield Memorial Hospital. Mr. Taylor was born in Waltonville on July 31, 1918, the son of Gifford and Minnie (Newell) Taylor. He left Mt. Vernon with the National Guard to serve in World War II. He was married in April, 1942, to Lucille Reisch, of Springfield. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Bish Memorial Funeral Home, in Springfield. In addition to his wife, Lucille, Mr. Taylor is survived by three sons, Donald, Pawnee, Charles, Springfield, and Arthur, in the Army at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. Earline Lord, Springfield; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Diel, Mt. Vernon; and a brother, Alva Taylor, Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother.
