Thomas Erwin "Tommy" Taylor , 62, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 5:05 pm March 5, 2024 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.

He was born February 8, 1962 in Cairo, Illinois to the late Earl Edwin and Marian (Burley) Taylor.

Tommy is survived by his siblings, John Taylor and wife, Kim of Salt Lake City, Utah, Sarah Lovin of Illinois, and Margaret Whitton of Magnolia, Texas; and several nieces and nephews, including Nephew, James Lovin and wife, Michelle of Nashville, Illinois.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph Taylor, Charles Taylor, Willie Taylor, Robert Taylor, Hugh Taylor, James Taylor, Mary Thompson, and Ann Sumner.

Tommy enjoyed fishing and traveling to see his family with his nephew, Tony Taylor. He was a loving family man and would help anyone in need. He helped raise many family members. As of late, he cared for his three nieces and their mother, Ligaya Taylor. Tommy will be deeply missed by all who knew and cared for him.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 7:00 pm. Interment will take place at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Mount Vernon at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Tommy's honor to the Taylor Family, in care of James Lovin.
