Mr. Teal was born Sept. 28, 1930, in Saline County to Charles and Mina (Sittig) Teal.

He married Jean Ferguson July 30, 1957, in Ridgway; she survives.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home. The Rev. Vola Sittig will officiate. Burial will be at Belle Rive Flint Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Kathy Sue Bocock and husband Dennis of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Raleigh Teal and wife Helen of Mt. Vernon; also several nieces and nephews including Mt. Vernon area residents Larry Schilling and wife Judy of Dahlgren and Jennifer Rowe and husband Mike of Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Teal was a member of Belle Rive Christian Church.

He was a Coal Belt Fire Association Volunteer for 40 years and was the longest volunteer associated with the group. He was also a member of the Belle Rive Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and four sisters.
