PEORIA HEIGHTS - Marguerite W. Thomas, age 95, of Peoria Heights, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at her home.

Marguerite was born on Aug. 20, 1915, in Mount Vernon, Ill., to William J. and Lillie M. (Harpole) Sendelbach.

She married William W. Thomas on Aug. 31, 1935, in Fairfield, Ill. He preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2002.

Marguerite is survived by her son, William F. Thomas of Peoria Heights, Ill.; four grandchildren, Sherry Lynn (Arthur) Parker of Washington, Ill., Michelle (Kevin) Tischhauser of Elmhurst, Ill., William Scott Thomas of Pekin, Ill., and Teresa (Stan) Stayton of Bloomington, Ill.; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Zola (Bus) Collins of Mount Vernon, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; one brother, Don Sendelbach; and one sister, Bennie Barton.

Marguerite was a beautician, and she was a member of the Peoria Heights Congregational Church and the Women's Fellowship.

Services will be Monday, May 23, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home in Peoria. The Rev. Karl Kraemer will be officiating. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
