James Trass, 96, of Dix, died at 12:58 p.m. Dec. 19, 1999, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Trass was born Oct. 12, 1903, in St. Joseph, La.

He married Melba Trass; she survives.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Old Covenanter Cemetery near Walnut Hill. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Friday. Osborn Funeral Home in Dix is in charge of arrangements.
