Cynthia Trotter Dies at Age 88; Rites Saturday

Mrs. Cynthia Jane Trotter died at 3:35 p.m. yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Dulaney of 1109 Bell Street. Her age was 88 years, 11 months and 27 days.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Shehorn officiating and burial will be in Bethel Memorial Cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Trotter was born December 17, 1861 in Hamilton County, IL the daughter of Henry and Malinda (Eldridge) Adams.

She was married to Jehue Trotter, which preceded her in death in 1941. Mrs. Trotter had been a resident of Mt Vernon for the past 39 years.

She was a member of the General Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Goldie Patterson of Marion and Mrs. George Dulany of Mt Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson of Clinton, IL; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
