Michael Dean Troutt, Sr.
Michael Dean Troutt, Sr., 54, Mt. Vernon, passed away at 1:05 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was born in San Diego, Calif., on Wednesday, June 2, 1953, a son of Edward F. and Helen (Kehrer) Troutt. He married Doris Shelton at New Hope Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon on Dec. 22, 1973. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Bakerville Free Will Baptist Church in Bonnie with Pastor Brett Minor and Tony Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the church. Michael is survived by his parents, Edward and Helen Troutt of Opdyke;his wife, Doris Troutt of Mt. Vernon; son, Michael Dean Troutt, Jr. and wife Wendy of Norcross, Ga.; daughter, Michelle Vaughn and husband Eddie of Mt. Vernon; granddaughter, Jovey Evelyn Troutt of Norcross, Ga.; sister, Donna Chambliss and husband Howard of Mt. Vernon; half-brother, Edward Troutt, Jr. and wife Debbie of Pickett, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews. One son, Matthew Daric Troutt, and one half-brother, Freddie Lee Troutt, preceded him in death. Michael was an attorney; he graduated from the School of Law at SIU-Carbondale and was a member of the SIU Alumni Association. He worked at Chicago Title Insurance Company in Mt. Vernon since 1977, taught at Rend Lake Community College for over 25 years, and was a member of IL.T.A., I.S.B.A., A.L.T.A., A.B.A. and Home Builders Association. Michael was an avid bowler, a member and deacon at Bakerville Free Will Baptist Church and was loved by all who knew him. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or to Bakerville Free Will Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O.
