Sylvia D. True, 91, of Dix died 1:55 a.m. April 7, 1004, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. True was born Oct. 3, 1912, in Oconee to John and Jane Bland.

She married Bert True Sept. 10, 1932, in Centralia; he preceded her in death Oct. 26, 1966.

Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Randy Sands will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.

Mrs. True is survived by a son, Darrell True of Mt. Vernon; daughters Doris Gresham and husband Gene of Mt. Vernon and Sandra Bishop of Henderson, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Russell True; a grandson Rick Gresham; a great-grand-daughter, Julie Ann Porter; three brothers Charlie, Cletus, and Vernon Bland; two sisters, Gladys McNeil and Marie Clopton; and a daughter-in-law, Tracy True.

Mrs. True was a longtime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she was active with vacation Bible school and the flower ministry.

Memorials may be amde to the Rick Gresham Scholarship fund at Pleasant Hill Church and will be received at the funeral home at any time. For more information you may contact Osborn Funeral Home in Dix at 266-7231.
