Kirby Deen Kloe Tucker, 87, of Mt. Vernon died 12:50 p.m. Sept.21, 2004 at Crossroads Community hospital in Mt. Vernon.

She was a house wife.

Mrs. Tucker was born July 26, 1917, in Illinois to George Kirby and Nomah (Cockrum) Dawson. She married Clyde R. Tucker October. 19, 1940, in Jackson, Mo.; he died May 23, 1991.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Revs. Mike Gillock and Jesse Allen will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Tucker is survived by a daughter, Carla J. Ellis of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren Craig Mullins and wife Lisa of Mt. Vernon and Timothy Ellis of Mt. Vernon; a great-granddaughter, Britney Mullins of Mt. Vernon; sisters Bea Drennan of Mt. Vernon and Maxine Tucker of Mt. Vernon; a nephew, Ron Dawson; and nieces Sandra Wellmaker, Jan Kennedy and Margie Graham.

She was preceded in deaty by her parents; her husband and brother, Alonzo J. Dawson.

Mrs. Tucker was a member of East Salem Baptist Church and attended First Freewill Baptist Church.
