W. B. Tuttle died at his home at 503 South Eighteenth street at seven o'clock Sunday evening after a long illness.

Willie B., son of Henry and Mary E. Tuttle, was born on the 20th day of October, 1866 in Guernsey county, Ohio.

His parents moved to Illinois when Will was about 12 years of age, and settled near old Williamsburg, where he attended the public schools of the neighborhood and here he grew to manhood.

He was united in marriage with Miss Hattie Newberry on the 11th day of September 1895. This union was blessed with three daughters, namely, Ruby, Beatrice and Laverna, all at home.

Beatrice is a teacher in the Horace mann school of this city and is employed for next year. Laverna will graduate from the High school this year and will teach in the schools here next year.

After Mr. Tuttle's marriage he lived in Waltonville and vicinity, with the exception of three years spent in the West, for his health, moving to Mt. Vernon, last August. He went to Chester as a state guard on December 26, 1921, and has been on duty there.

He has been in failing health for more than two years and in March he became worse and gradually declined. On May 7th he became much worse and was brought to his home at 503 South Eighteenth street in this city on May 9th, a very sick man; all that loved ones could do was done, but to no avail and at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 18th, he died.

He was an upright citizen, a kind neighbor, a devoted loving husband and father.

Beside his wife and three daughters, he leaves one sister, Mrs. Sylvester Freeman of Scheller.

His father, mother, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

The funeral will be at Waltonville tomorrow, May 20th at 10:00 a.m. with the burial at Knob Prairie cemetery.
