Perry Joe "P.J." VanMatre, 29, of Ina, passed away at 3:20 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was born in Mt. Vernon on Aug. 13, 1979, a son of Joe David and Diana Lou (Riech) VanMatre.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dix.

P.J. is survived by his father, Joe VanMatre of Ina; a son, Perry Joe VanMatre, Jr. of Mt. Vernon; two half-brothers, Kevin Harris and wife Katie of N. C., and David Harris of Jacksonville, Fla.; a half-sister, Tresia Simms of Ina; and several nieces and nephews.

His mother preceded him in death.

P. J. worked for K and L Recovery in Ewing.
