Ninety-six-year old Franklin Ward, well-known retired Farrington township farmer, died at the home of his son, Eddie Ward, RFD 3, Bluford, at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Ward was born in Greenup, Ill., April 14, 1860, the son of Newton and Susanna (PICKERING) Ward.

He resided near Greenup until moving to Jefferson county 54 years ago.

He was married to Annis ST. JOHN April 11, 1896, who survives at the age of 92.

Also surviving are two sons, Eddie and Frankie, both of Bluford, RFD 3, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Wells Chapel church, conducted by the Rev. Dwight Rogers of Xenia, Ill. Burial will be in Wells Chapel cemetery. The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, where friends may call.
