Dorothy (Phillips) Williams Warren

Dorothy D. WARREN, 86, 222 N. Eighth St., died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was born Dec. 5, 1898, in Jefferson County, a daughter of William Brady and Nettie (LACEY) PHILLIPS.

She married Fred WILLIAMS in St. Louis, Mo., who died in World War I.

She later married Arthur WARREN on Oct. 23, 1923 in Mt. Vernon. He died June 19, 1949.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery with Monsignor James P. BURKE officiating. Friends may call at the Hughey Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today and until 10 a.m. Saturday. Those attending the graveside services are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marion (Shirley) WATKINSON of Mt. Vernon;one son, William D. WARREN of Los Angeles; one stepson, Wheeler WARREN of Bellevue, Wash.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Fredelee WILLIAMS, one stepson, Howard WARREN, five sisters and two brothers.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and First United Methodist Church of Mt. Vernon.
