Nettie Wells Of Bonnie Died At Age 87

Nettie Wells, 87, Route 1, Bonnie, died at 1 a.m. Saturday in Good Samaritan Hospital.

Mrs. Wells was born Feb. 3, 1898, in Jefferson County, the daughter of the Rev. Thomas Richard and Lucinta (Pottaraff) Tittle.

She married Eric Wells on Dec. 29, 1916. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1975.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with the Rev. Guy Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in South Hickory Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth Wells of Salem; two granddaughters, Darlene Ballard and Tisa Brown; five great-grandchildren, Lee Ann West, Faron Ballard, Jodi Ballard, Tana Brown and Tyler Brown.

Mrs. Wells had been employed by the Mt. Vernon Garment Factory and was a member of Elk Prairie Christian Church.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters.
