Everett Ward "Wardy" Wells Jr.
BONNIE - Everett Ward "Wardy" Wells Jr., 55, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. Wardy was born Aug. 26, 1952, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Everett Ward Wells Sr. and Marietta Faye (Wilson) Wells. He was a production worker at Nascote Industries in Nashville. Wardy was a gentle giant in our lives. He was quiet until he had something to say, then we should listen. He loved all his group friends and his nieces and nephews. He took great joy in fixing his cars and boats, fishing and camping. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, in Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, with Brother Bill Wilson officiating. Interment will be in South Hickory Hill Cemetery in rural Mount Vernon. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Wardy is survived by his mother, Marietta Faye Wells of Bonnie; one sister, Monica Gayle Newell of Phoenix, Ariz.; two uncles, Bill Wilson and wife, Jesse, and Tom Wells and wife, Pat; three aunts, Harriet Wilson, Mildred Wilson and Geraldine Wilson; two nieces, Stephanie and husband, Terry McCabe, of Park Ridge and Andi Felty of Bluford; three great-nephews, Brandon, Jakob and Christian Felty; and one great-niece, Riley McCabe.
