Alyce E. (Thomas) Wetzer
Alyce E. Wetzer, 78, of rural Route 1, Opdyke died 8:30 a.m. November 1, 1995, at her home. She was a pharmacy assistant at the Prescription Shop in Mt. Vernon from 1947 until 1982. Mrs. Wetzer was born April 9, 1917, in Woodlawn, a daughter of Wiley and Mable (Moore) Thomas. May 20, 1951, in Piggott, Arkansas, she married Charles W. "Bill" Wetzer, who survives. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Buss Hart officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn-Odd Fellows Cemetery in Woodlawn. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home. Mrs. Wetzer is survived by her husband, Charles W. "Bill" Wetzer of Opdyke; two daughters, Dana Duva of Tucson, Arizona, and Judith Casseberg and husband Bo of Knife Point, Minnesota; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; a sister, Lois Hodge of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of V.F.W. Post 1376 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 141 Auxiliary. Mrs. Wetzer was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marilyn Thomas; and a niece, Sue Cobb."
