Fred E. Whalen Dies at Alton; Bring Body Here

Relatives here have received word of the death of Fred Eugene Whalen of Alton, ILL, which occurred Tuesday at Alton.

The body will be brought to Myers Chapel in Mt. Vernon. Funeral arrangements were incomplete.

Mr. Whalen was born in Wayne county, the son of John and Mary (Maulding) Whalen.

He is survived by four brothers, Robert of East Alton, Vern of Wayne City, Roy of Rochelle and Ed of Alton; and five sisters, Mrs. Clara Loge and Mrs. Florence Rector of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Jane Guthrie of Peoria, Mrs. Nora Jones of DeKalb and Mrs. Laura McClure of Flint, Mich.

Whalen Funeral at 2:00 Friday

Funeral services for Fred Eugene Whalen, who died Tuesday at Alton, Illinois, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Myers Chapel. The Rev Bird Green will officiate.

Friends may call at Myers Chapel at any time.

Mr. Whalen is survived by four brothers, Robert of East Alton, Vern of Wayne City, Roy of Rochelle and Ed of Alton; five sisters, Mrs. Clara Loge and Mrs. Florence Rector of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Jane Guthrie of Peoria, Mrs. Nora Jones of DeKalb and Mrs. Laura McClure of Flint, Michigan.
