Entered Into Eternal Rest Thursday, Oct 24, 1963 Glenn Whalen Funeral Sunday Glenn Udell Whalen, 48, of Galesburg, Ill., died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday at Veterans Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, following a lingering illness. He was a railway postal clerk. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Bluford Funeral Home in Bluford, with the Rev. Paul E. Dann, Sr., officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest cemetery in Centralia. The body will lie in state at the Bluford Funeral Home, where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Whalen was born September 20, 1915, in Belle Rive, the son of Roscoe Vern and Maude (Butler) Whalen. On June 16, 1940, in St. Louis, Mo., he was married to Omal Outland, who survives. Other survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe V. Whalen of Bluford; two daughters, Joyce and Donna both at home; two brothers, Howard Whalen of Stockholm, N.J., and Noel Whalen of Fort Carson, Colo. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Mr. Whalen was a veteran of World War II.
