Ruby White
Mrs. Eagle White Dies at Age 39 (sic.) Mrs. Ruby White, 39, (sic.) colored, of 609 S, 13th street, died at 11:00 o'clock last night at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for the past month and a half. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 7, at 2:00 p. m. at the Shiloh Baptist church. The Rev. L. A. Roberston will officiate. The body will remain at the Campbell and Parker Funeral Home, where friends may call. Mrs. White was born December 4, 1909 in Lexington, Miss. On November 8, 1925 (sic.) she was married to Eagle White, in Blaine, Miss. She had been a resident of Mt. Vernon for the past nine years. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist church. Surviving are her husband, Eagle White; her mother, Daisy Montgomery; a son, Isaiah White of Mt. Vernon; three brothers, James Sanders of Jackson, Miss., Dave Davis of Milwaukee, Wis. and Santmark Davis of Louisville, Ky.; and two sisters, Estella Wilbert and Elizabeth Sticoff of Louisville, Ky. Note: There is a mistake in this obituary. It has her age as 39, but says she was born on November 8, 1925. She died August 3, 1948, the day before her obit was published.
