Verneda Whitson Dies at Age 46; Rites Saturday Mrs. Verneda Whitson, of 1220 Lamar Avenue, died at 11:35 o’clock last night at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past two days. Her age was 46 years, ten months and 11 days. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Nazarene church, with the Rev. E. E. Milby officiating, and burial will be in East Salem cemetery. The body will be taken at 11 a.m. Friday to the family home, where friends may call at any time until the funeral hour. Mrs. Whitson was born June 7, 1904 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of William and Addie (Yearwood) Lisenby. On October 28, 1922, she was married to Ivan Whitson, who survives.She was a member of the Nazarene church. Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Addie Lisenby of Mt. Vernon; one son, Bill Whitson of Mt. Vernon; three brothers, Woodrow Lisenby of Mt. Vernon; Edward Lisenby of Woodstock (NOTE: George Lisenby) and Fordyce Lisenby of Chicago: one sister, Mrs. Mabel Hunt of Woodstock; and two grandchildren.
