Dwayne E. Wickstrom, 63, Mt. Vernon, passed away at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was born in Alton on June 28,1945, a son of Delbert T. Wickstrom and Fern (Mason) Wickstrom.

He married Patricia "Patty" Campbell in Waltonville on Dec. 31, 1964. He worked as a labor for a cleaning service.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn with the Rev. Dennis Myers officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn.

Dwayne is survived by his wife, Patricia "Patty" Wickstrom of Mt. Vernon;son, Brian Wickstrom and wife Maria of Rio Rancho, N.M.; daughter, Pamela Purdy and husband Blaine of Monroeville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Tasha, Robert and Brittany Purdy and Amanda Wickstrom; two brothers, Richard Austin and wife Sally of Arizona, and Jim Bunting and wife Becky of Ore-gon; two sisters, Barbara Turner and husband Paul of Wood River and Carolyn Lindell and husband Vernon of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents preceded him in death.

Dwayne enjoyed fishing and loved animals and being around people. He was a member of Howard Community Chapel.
