Mrs. Josephine M. Wilkerson, 89, of Dix, died at 8 a.m. Sunday at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

She had resided with Mr. and Mrs. Willis Keele of Dix for the past 30 years.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ross Partridge officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix after 5:30 p.m. today.

She was born in Opdyke on Sept. 21, 1884, the daughter of Sam and Lilly (Dixon) McKinry.

On Jan. 2, 1907, in Bluford, she was married to Thomas Wilkerson, who died in 1936.

Mrs. Wilkerson was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by six nephews, Earl and Calvin Polen, Ottawa, Virgil Work, Rhodes Iowa, Glen Work, Peopone, Adron McKinry, Birchwood, Wis. and Robert Williams, Mt. Vernon, and four nieces, Mrs. Blanche Russell and Mrs. Lena Beaty, both of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. John Silince, Paxton, and Mrs. Irene Couch, Jackson, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, four sisters, and one daughter Opal Hertenstein.
