Rev. Ray M. Wilkey
Rev. Ray M. Wilkey of Belle Rive died at his home June 19, 2001. He was born in Mt. Vernon Feb. 8, 1918, to Chalon and Gertrude (Turner) Wilkey. On March 21, 1938, he married Frances Quinn in Dahlgren. Rev. Wilkey was a school bus driver for 21 years. He was pastor of several area churches for almost 50 years. He served in World War II for the U.S. Army from Feb. 10, 1945 through Aug. 6, 1946. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Frances; one son, Ron Wilkey and daughter-in-law Irene Wilkey on Belle Rive; four granddaughters, Sandra Dawn Muller and husband Karl of Ann Arbor, Mich., Lorraine Marie Snyder and husband Michael of Peachtree City, Ga., Susan Gail Harloff and husband Matthew of Avon, Ind. and Michelle Rae Mobley and husband David of Indianapolis, Ind.; four great-grandchildren, Michelle Marie Snyder, Harrison Evan Snyder, Stephanie Morgan Muller and Tyson Matthew Harloff. Graveside services will precede burial at 2 p.m. Friday at Belle Rive Flint Cemetery with graveside military rites by the Mt. Vernon V.F.W. Post 1376. Revs. Richard McCormick and Ron Trotter will conduct graveside services. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren. Rev.
