Robert W. "Bob" Williams
Robert W. "Bob" Williams, 79, of Trenton died Oct. 6, 2004, at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese. Mr. Williams was born June 20, 1925, in Spring Garden to John and Mae (Campbell-Shurtz) Williams; they preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by brothers Glen and Fred Shurtz; and a sister-in-law, Melba Shurtz. He married Roxie (Johnston) Williams Oct. 16, 1945, in Lincoln, Neb.; she survives in Trenton. Also surviving are a son, Michael (Diana) Williams of Findlay; a daughter, Cherolyn Williams of Vero Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, Hilary Williams, Melissa Williams, Michael (Judi) Williams Jr., Macy Williams and Dylan Williams; a great-granddaughter, Neenah Williams; brothers Marvin (Freda) Williams, Thurman (Gerry) Williams and Bill (Jacque) Williams, all of Bonnie; a sister-in-law, Frieda (Maurice) Schmidt of Woodlawn; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Williams was a retired principal from Wesclin Junior High School in Trenton and taught previously at Clay City Senior High School, Bethel Grade School in Mt. Vernon and McClellan Grade School. He was an Army/Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of West Gate Baptist Church in Trenton and Locust Hills Golf Club in Lebanon. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at West Gate Baptist Church in Trenton, with the Revs. Mike May and Tom Leveling officiating. Interment will be 1:30 p.m. at Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
