Elma Lee (Butts) Williams
Elma Lee Williams, 91, of Nason, died Saturday morning, Oct. 25, 2008, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was born in Dexter, Mo., on Nov. 13, 1916, the daughter of Thomas A. and Lydia (Mathus) Butts. She married Everett Ray Williams on Nov. 14, 1936, in Mt. Vernon, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1994. She is survived by four sons, David R. Williams of Lafe, Ark., Vernon Leroy Williams of Mt. Vernon, Thomas Dwaine Williams of Mt. Vernon and John Kenneth Williams of Mt. Vernon; eight daughters, Rilla Fulwider of Nason, Kyra Williams of House Springs, Mo., Karma Peters of Brentwood, Mo., Brenda Williams of Mt. Vernon, Ruby LaRee Dains of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Lydia Lint of Garrison, Iowa, Deana Miller of Mt. Vernon and Teresa Glad-win of Ina; 36 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents; husband; by two sons, Paul and Gale; by a daughter, Karen Bremer; by a grandson; by a great-granddaughter; and by one sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with the Rev. Jesse Allen and the Rev. Eric Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Abner Cemetery in Nason.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
