Gale Norman Williams
Gale Norman Williams, 65, of Dix, died 3:30 a.m. Jan. 6, 2007, at his home. He was born on Jan. 24, 1941, in Mt. Vernon to Everett Ray and Elma Lee (Butts) Williams. He married his childhood sweetheart Barbara June (Dennis) Williams in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on April 7, 1960. She survives him. Gale worked as a Property Management Supervisor. He was a Deacon at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. He was a Veteran, serving in the United States Navy. He was a member of the VFW. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina. Rev. Larry Jones will officiate. Burial will be in South Hickory Hill Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by Mt. Vernon American Legion Post #141. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Gale is survived by his mother Elma Lee (Butts) Williams of Nason; his wife Barbara June (Dennis) Williams of Dix; sons Eric Williams and wife Leslie of Texico, Todd Williams of Boise, I.D., Terry Williams of Boise, I.D., Aaron Williams of Boise, I.D., and Timothy Williams and wife Diana of Las Vegas, Nev.; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; eight sisters; and four brothers. He was preceded in death by his father Everett Ray Williams, brother Paul Everett Williams, sister Karen Bremer, and grandson Nathan Paul Williams. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Williams family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
