JAS. G. WILLIAMS DIED AT AN EARLY HOUR. James G. Williams died Sunday morning at 2:45 o'clock at his home, 425 South Seventeenth Street. Mr. Williams had been in impaired health the last two years or more, and his condition had been serious some time. He was born in Farrington township, Jefferson County, October 22, 1853. He was a son of Hiram Williams. He was married to Mary Jane Clifton, who died in 1929. The body was taken to Myers chapel, 122 North Tenth street where it remained until the funeral hour today. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 at Harmony church , and burial followed in the cemetery nearby. Mr. Williams is survived by four daughters, Cora and Lula Williams at home; Mrs Rosa Borden, Vincennes, Ind. and Mrs. Maude Kissiek, Detroit,Mich. One of the daughters, Lula, is seriously sick at this time. Mr. Williams farmed the greater part of his life, but for 13 years was manager of the Tri-County telephone interests. He proved very efficient in the telephone business, was courteous, conscientious, and left nothing undone to insure good service for the public. He was an excellent citizen and had many friends, and those doing business with the Tri-County pay tribute to his devotion to duty. He had retired from active life for some time, but will be remembered kindly by all who had business or social relations with him.
