John Alexander Williams
John Alexander WILLIAMS, former resident of Ina, but for the past several years a citizen of Bonnie, died Sunday morning at St. Lukes Hospital in St. Louis where he had been a patient for a week. He was 57 years old. Mr. WILLIAMS was a former machinist at the Mt. Vernon Car Shops. He was born November 6, 1898 in White County, the son of Monroe and Laura (HAYES) WILLIAMS. He was married to Edna Mae CAMPBELL, August 17, 1921, who survives. Mr. WILLIAMS was a member of the Bonnie Church of God. Besides his wife he is survived by four sons, Billy Gale, Marvin and Thurman of Bonnie, and Robert of Mt. Vernon; two step sons, Glen and Fred SHURTZ of Waltonville; three sisters, Leta, Geneva and Marie, all of Chicago; a half brother, Earl SON of Elgin; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bonnie Church of God conducted by Rev. Loy SHAW. Burial was in Kirk Cemetery.
