Homer H. Wilson

Homer H. Wilson, a farmer who resided on RFD 1, Mt. Vernon died last night at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. His age was 69 years, ten months and 18 days.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at South Hickory Hill Church, with the Rev. Ace Summers and the Rev. Bird Green officiating, and burial will be in South Hickory Hill cemetery. The body will remain at the family home, where friends may call.

Mr. Wilson was born April 3, 1879 in McClellan township, the son of Elijah and Elnorah (Wells) Wilson.

He was a lifetime resident of Jefferson county.

On September 10, 1902 he was married to Effie Jane Wicks, who survives.

Mr. Wilson was a member of the Free Will Baptist church. Surviving, besides his wife, are seven sons, Ogal, Homer A., Hosie M., Elisha and Raymond of Mt. Vernon, Melvin of Sturgis, Ky. and Herman of Bonnie; one daughter, Mrs. Lela Hester of Bonnie; four brothers, Joe and Richard of Mt. Vernon, Waldy of Waltonville and Orlie of Jacksonville, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Cora Britton of Mt. Vernon; 28 grandchildren.

One son William David was killed in service during World War II, and one son and daughter died in infancy.
