Melvin Dean (Jack) Wilson
Jack Wilson Of Beatty, Nev., Died At Age 53 Melvin Dean (Jack) Wilson, 53, of Beatty, Nev., and formerly of the Mt. Vernon area, died 1 a.m. April 24, 1989, near Beatty, Nev., as he was struck by a hit-and-run drive. Mr. Wilson was employed at Security Office Mining Industry in Nevada. Mr. Wilson was born Feb. 1, 1936, in Ina, a son of Melvin and Ada Ruth (Cook) Wilson. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Sunday at South Hickory Hill Cemetery with Randy Sells officiating. Those attending the services are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Sunday. Hughey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Wilson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bert (Shelley) Walker of Mt. Vernon; one grandson, Bert Walker; two brothers, Gary Wilson and Monty Wilson, both of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Jean Garrett of Vero Beach, Fla.; his stepmother, Mrs. Don (Jane) Melton of Mt. Vernon; two uncles, Homer A. Wilson and Ogal O. Wilson Sr., both of Mt. Vernon, three aunts, Lela Williams and Viola Wilson, both of Mt. Vernon, and Velma Wilson of Bonnie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Wilson was an Army veteran, serving from 1954 to 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents.
