Mitchell Wilson, age 90, of Waltonville, and formerly of rural Bluford, passed away Monday February 18, 2008 at Mt. Vernon Health Care Center.

He was born in Wayne County on August 27, 1917 the son of Willie and Florence (Youngblood) Wilson.

Mitchell was a farmer in the Bluford area until failing health and then he spent his remaining years with his son Jack Wilson of rural Waltonville.

He was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by three sons, Larry Wilson of West Frankfort; Jerry Wilson and wife Kay of Dallas, and Jack Wilson of Waltonville. He was also survived by his First wife, Nola Ramsey of Mt. Vernon, IL and six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Keith and Ray Wilson; two sisters, Blanche Wilson and Hazel Wiggins.

Newell Funeral Home of Mt. Vernon is in charge of arrangements and at his request there will be private family funeral services. Internment will be at Garrison Temple Cemetery in Wayne County.
