WALLACE L. WIMBERLY, of Texico died at 5:40p.m. Monday in Marion Memorial Hospital at the age of 82 years and 21 days. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Ross PARTRIDGE officiating. Burial will be in Zion Grove (County Line) Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. WIMBERLY was born September 11, 1885, in Jefferson county, the son of Thomas Harvey and Marenda (MYERS) WIMBERLY. On May 9, 1909, in Plainview, Tex., he was married to Alice W. BYARS of Kell, who survives. He is also survived by a son, John Thomas WIMBERLY of Marion; a sister, Mrs. Maudi WHITLOCK of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren: Mrs. Janice O'HARE of Rockford, Mrs. Brenda DARE of Boston, Mass.; Thomas Lee WIMBERLY of Carterville, and Jackie Lynn WIMBERLY of Marion. Mr. WIMBERLY was a former school teacher, farmer, and fruit grower and, for 11 years, he served as a Jefferson County supervisor. He attended Ewing College and in 1904 became a member of Panther Fork Baptist church. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
