CYRUS C. "CY" WOOD, SR., 92 of Bluford, Illinois, passed away at 6:35 P.M. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Cy was born on February 3, 1916 in Bluford, Illinois the son of the late Benjamin E. and Laura L. (Livesay) Wood. He married Doris E. Hayes in Jackson, Missouri on September 14, 1941. FUNERAL SERVICE: will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Bluford, Illinois. Reverend Willie Duel will officiate. VISITATION: will be from 5 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Bluford, Illinois. INTERMENT: Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois. Surviving family members include his Wife: Doris E. Wood of Bluford, Illinois; Daughter: Marsha Schrum and husband Louis of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; Son: Cyrus C. Wood, Jr. and wife Glenna of McLeansboro, Illinois; 9 Grandchildren: Mark Schrum and wife Carla of Bluford, Illinois, David Schrum and wife Angela of Bluford, Illinois, Chad Schrum and wife Chris of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Julie Koch of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Jana Winkleman and husband Adam of Carmi, Illinois, Jessica Daugherty and husband Eric of Bluford, Illinois, Joseph C. Wood of McLeansboro, Illinois, Angela Dugger of McLeansboro, Illinois and Kristie Dugger of McLeansboro, Illinois; 9 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. His parents, three brothers: Paul, Rynd and Ivan Wood, his sister: Bertha Collard, two infant brothers and one infant sister preceded him in death. Cy owned and operated B.E. Wood Printing Company, was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Otterbein U.M.C. or to Oakdale Cemetery and will be accepted at the church, the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O.
