Edna L. (Toney) Woodward

Edna L. Woodward, 92, of Mt. Vernon died 12:55 p.m. Jan. 8, 2007, at Tradewater Point Nursing Home in Dawson Springs, Ky.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Woodward was born July 17, 1912, in Danville to William Toney and Amanda (Beard) Toney Flanagan.

She married Herbert G. “Hank” Woodward Nov. 11, 1939, in Bryson City, N.C.; he preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. Everett Lemay will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery. No public visitation will be held.

Mrs. Woodward is survived by a son, Robert G.Woodward and wife Elizabeth of Key West, Fla., and a sister, Emma Williams of Woodland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Robert Woodward Jr.; two brothers, Robert and William Toney; and a sister, Cleo Rose.

Mrs. Woodward was a member of Logan Street Baptist Church, Royal Neighbors and Rebekah’s Lodge.
