Richard "Dick" Wrolen
Richard "Dick" Wrolen, 74 of Centralia died 9:30 pm, Feb. 16, 2004 at St. Mary's Good Samaritian Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was a truck driver for Hesco in Hoffman. Mr. Wrolen was born Aug. 10, 1929, in Tamaroa to Phillip and Mary (McCoy) Wrolen. He married Lois Jean (Houghland) Wrolen Oct. 16, 1957 in Murphysboro; she survives. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Thursday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. The Rev. Calvin Jean will officiate. Burial will follow at Boyd Cemetery. Friends may call after 11am Thursday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. Mr. Wrolen is survived by his wife, Lois Jean Wrolen of Centralia; sons Richard Dean Wrolen and friend Rhonda of Centralia, Robert David Wrolen and wife Lora of Centralia and Randy Wrolen and wife Kerry of Salem; daughters Sandra Howard and Husband Paul of Centralia and Nellie Long and husband Jay of Centralia; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and six sisters. Mr. Wrolen was of the protestant faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served three years in Germany.
