Charles Yearwood
Charles YEARWOOD, a retired former Mt. Vernon teamster and one of Jefferson county's oldest residents, died yesterday at the age of 91 years and 29 days. Mr. Yearwood died at the Okawville, Ill. nursing home. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Pulley Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Edward COCKRELL of East St. Louis will officiate and burial will be at Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Yearwood was born September 8, 1861 in Jefferson county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Yearwood. He was married to Nannie E. Carson, who preceded him in death. Mr. Yearwood was a member of the Epworth Methodist church. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Leslie Smith of East St. Louis; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and a sister, Kate Wilson of St. Louis. A sister, Margaret McGill preceded him in death in September 11, 1957.
