Henry Alfred "Al" Yearwood
Henry Alfred YEARWOOD, generally known as Al YEARWOOD, died this morning at three o'clock at the family home, 101 Opdyke Avenue. Mr. Yearwood was a lifelong resident of Mt. Vernon, having been born here March 8, 1867, his age being 63 years, seven months and 23 days at the time of his death. He was a son of David YEARWOOD, in his day, a well known citizen of Mt. Vernon. Al YEARWOOD was in the employ of Fred P Watson, of the firm of which Mr. Watson was a part, for 40 years, and was still in his employ when stricken by the illness which resulted in his death. A period of 40 years service with one employer speaks volumes for loyalty to employer and employer's interests. Mr. YEARWOOD had many friends in Mt. Vernon and throughout Jefferson county, having an extensive acquaintance in the county. He is survived by his wife Georgia A. YEARWOOD, and one daughter, Mrs. Gale GREEN, and one brother, John YEARWOOD, and one sister, Mrs. A. C. STULL, all of Mt. Vernon. One grandchild survives. Funeral services will be held at the family home, 101 Opdyke Ave., at 3 p.m., Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Bird GREEN, and the Rev. H.A. MYERS and burial will follow at Sursa cemetery, east of Mt. Vernon.
