John Edward Yearwood
John Edward Yearwood of 2104 Richview Road died at 7:00 a.m. Monday in Valpariaso Niceville Hospital in Niceville, Fla., at the age of 87 years, nine months and 27 days. Mr. Yearwood had been visiting with Florida relatives. He leaves 58 descendants; three sons, six daughters, 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Pulley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Farmer and the Rev. Everett Lemay officiating. Burial will be in New Shiloh Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Pulley Funeral Home where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Yearwood was born Oct. 5, 1877 in Jefferson County, the son of William and Mary Ann (Taylor) Yearwood. On March 6, 1902, he was married to Clara Dorris who preceded him in death on May 2 of this year. Survivors include three sons, Charles, Walter and John Yearwood, all of Mt. Vernon; six daughters, Mrs. Mary Harmon and Mrs. Dorothy Isaacs, both of Roxana, Ill., Mrs. Edith Gilbert of Panama City, Fla., Mrs. Ethel Farmer of Evansville, Ind., Mrs. Betty Newell and Mrs. Fay Borah, both of Mt. Vernon; two half-brothers, Ray Reynolds and Albert Reynolds; 24 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Mr. Yearwood, a concrete contractor, was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America Lodge.
