John Robert Yearwood
John Robert YEARWOOD, of 17th and Oak streets, died at 4 o'clock this morning at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past nine days. He was 77 years, 1 month and 1 day of age. Mr. Yearwood was a lifetime resident of Jefferson county, was a woodworker in th wood erect shop at the Pressed Car Company. He was born April 19, 1875, the son of Samuel and Rita Yearwood. His wife, Almeda, preceded him in death in February 26, 1951. Mr. Yearwood was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist church and of the B.R.C. of A. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Cyrus MAULDING officiating, and burial will be in East Salem cemetery. Mr. Yearwood is survived by two sons, Max Arthur and Robert H. of Decatur, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Grace LOSS of Walla Walla, Wash. and Mrs. Flora CONDER of Decatur; three sisters, Mrs. Addie LISENBY of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Lola STARKEY of Spring Valley, Ill., and Mrs. Ann WHITSELL of Terre Alta, West Virginia; eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
