Martin L. Allen died on or about Sept. 15, 1858 ** George Bullock, Admin. Box 11 Martin Luther Allen. ** Lucinda Allen, widow of John R. Allen, & Green B. Wells, Admin. Mar. 1, 1858. Bill from Lucinda Goodner for raising, clothing, schooling and care of dec'd. for about 6 years, including last illness $117.00 submitted Dec. 1858. Dec. 1859 Green B. Wells petitions court to sell real estate at public venue because money insufficient to pay debts. Martin Luther Allen died in possession of 40 acres intestate without any open heir surviving except mother, brothers and sisters and their children and next of kin. (See list below.) A portion of said heirs at law, to wit: Court to assign a guardian ad litem. William Dodds appointed guardian of Florence, Candace and (name marked out), minor defendants. Sheriffs of Wayne & Jefferson Counties to summon heirs to allow sale of property. Lucinda Allen - mother, John R., George W., Samuel K., Charles W., Henry D., Leander B., James, Matilda Allen Piper & Wiley, Phoebe Allen Wells & Green B., Polly Allen Bullock & George, Jane Allen Bond & Lewis, Littia Crowder alias Allen & William L (Ezekial?)., Lucinda L., Rhodam Seaton, Florence, Candace, and May (Emily S.?) Childers. Jan. 20. 1860. This is his mother and all ½ & whole brothers & sisters. He had inherited land from his father in 1851. August 1860, George Bullock Admin. de bonis(?) upon decease of Green B. Wells, he sold real estate based on plat of decision of the estate of Rhodam Allen, deceased. Mar. 24, 1861, Admin. Feb. 19, 1861 $430 from sale of real estate. Plat of lands of John Rhodam Allen, deceased included in papers to show real estate inherited and sold. BOX 16 |
